Yes the acrylic basketball backboards are good and are much better than other backboards.

The acrylic basketball backboards are more resistant to being broken such as by rocks, vandalism etc.

If a rock or other harder object is thrown at an acrylic basketball backboard the object will likely just bounce off the backboard instead of breaking it.

Some tempered glass backboards can break easily even with a basketball which has happened to me before but the acrylic basketball backboard hasn't broken.

My kids have even thrown rocks at our acrylic basketball backboard and it never broke and the rocks just bounced off it.

I would highly recommend buying a basketball goal with the acrylic backboard as it will last longer.
