Life insurance usually is not needed after age 60 or 65 years of age as long as you have no other dependents or bills that need paid after you die.

If you have other people such as a spouse that would depend on your income to pay the bills then having a life insurance policy in place would be a good idea.

However if you have no major debt such as a mortgage, or other medical bills etc and you don't have anyone depending on you for an income or you don't have a spouse then you don't need life insurance after age 60.

Most people will have life insurance policies up until age 65 and with some life insurance policies you can cash out the life insurance policy before you die and then prepay for your funeral with part of that money and pay any other bills with the extra money or use the money for anything else that you want to use it for.

Me personally I have a life insurance policy and will keep it until I turn 65 and then after that I hope to have all my bills paid off such as all debt and I won't have anymore dependents relying on my income.

I will then prepay for my funeral expenses so there's nothing for my family to worry about.

I would recommend getting a term life insurance policy that you can cash out if you're still living at the end of the term.
