Most infections and other diseases that infect rabbits cannot infect humans.

But there is one infection and parasite that can effect both rabbits and humans which is the parasite Cryptosporidium which is similar to the parasite coccidia that is found in rabbits.

The Cryptosporidium that can infect both rabbits and humans can cause diarrhea and diarrhoeal illness in humans.

It's very rare that you would get infected with anything from a rabbit especially pet rabbits that are kept in cages and healthy.

Catching parasites and other infections from wild rabbits is more likely but you usually catch it through the feces and urine.

As long as you don't make contact with rabbit urine or rabbit feces you should be safe from the infections and parasites from the rabbit.
