Most times especially in small towns UPS will deliver only once per day and they will deliver all the packages on their trucks to the address before going back to the distribution center.
In bigger cities if the UPS driver has a lot of packages to deliver and they get more than one package for you that doesn't get onto their truck it might go back on their truck again or be sent on another truck to deliver the other packages to your address.
I have had a few packages delivered to my house before when I lived in a bigger city but now living in a smaller rural town I only get one delivery through UPS per day.
If I don't get a package that day then it will usually be delivered the next day or so by the UPS driver on their next route.
