In the state of Ohio the statute of limitations in Ohio to collect a debt is 6 years.

That means that a debt collector has up to 6 years to collect the debt or try to collect the debt and sue you before the statute of limitations has run out.

It doesn't matter how much the debt is or what the debt is that you owe.

If the debt collector or person you owe the debt to doesn't sue you within 6 years of you owing the debt then the debt collector or company cannot sue you for the debt owed.

If you make contact with the debt collector or other creditor during those 6 years and agree on payments then the clock starts ticking again and they have another 6 years to sue you before the statute of limitations has run out.
