A hazard is something that will cause you harm or death if you come into contact with the hazard or do something that is hazardous.

Such as bad electrical system, chemicals. bad car tires etc those would all be hazards that could harm you if something went wrong.

A risk is a chance whether high or low chance that you will be hurt, severely injured or killed from a hazard if you take the risk or chance by doing something hazardous.

Such as your tires are really bad on your car and will likely blow out on you and cause a potential roll over accident that could injure you or kill you if you drive with those bad tires.

You're taking a risk by driving that car with those bad tires that could blow.

That is the difference between a risk and a hazard.
