Are there any ways of getting rid of the flu faster than a week?

I got the flu yesterday and it normally takes me a week or two to get over the flu and it sucks to have the flu.

Is there any medicine I can take or something else I can do like a home remedy to rid myself of the flu faster?

You can do things to prevent getting the flu but once you have the flu then about the only thing you can do is to just wait it out.

Medicine might help to alleviate the symptoms of the flu but it won't get rid of it.
