The function of basophils in your blood are to prevent your blood from clotting up or clotting up too quickly.

The basophils in the blood also help to promote the flow of blood to the tissues when it needs it because of the vasodilator histamine that basophils contain.

A normal basophil count is between 1 percent and 2 percent of the total white blood cell count.

If your basophil count is higher than normal it is called basophilia and that can be caused by chronic inflammation in your body or some other health condition that causes too many white blood cells to be produced in your bone marrow.

So it's a good idea to get a checkup on your health often to make sure your basophil levels are at proper levels for optimal health.
