A persons basophil count is considered to be high when when your basophil count is greater than 200 cells/u.
Or when your relative basophil count is greater than 2%, but each laboratory will usually set their own normal ranges based on the local population in the area.
When your basophil count becomes too high it's called Basophilia.
When your basophil count is too high it can usually indicate and can be a sign of chronic inflammation in your body.
It can also be a condition that is causing too many white blood cells to be produced in your bone marrow.
If your basophil count continues to rise it could mean something more serious that needs checked out but if the basophil count goes back down it may not be anything to worry about.
