Yes artificial sweeteners are bad for dogs and can kill dogs as well.

If the artificial sweetener contains the ingredient Xylitol then that is poisonous to dogs and can be deadly within the same day or a few days later.

The ingredient that artificial sweeteners contain known as Xylitol is also found in other foods such as some peanut butter, toothpaste and sugar free gum.

Some peanut butters do not contain any Xylitol which means the peanut butter is safe for the dog to eat but if the peanut butter contains any Xylitol then the dog should not eat the peanut butter or anything else containing the ingredient Xylitol.

So avoid giving the dog any foods with artificial sweetener because it can kill dogs.
