Whether or not your car or vehicle is safe to drive when it has high oil pressure depends on how high the oil pressure is.

If the oil pressure is between 65 PSI and 75 PSI then it might be safe as long as it drops down to normal as in 55 PSI to 60 PSI.

Some vehicles only have an oil pressure gauge that shows high and low and as long as the oil pressure gauge doesn't get into the red danger zone then you're likely safe to drive the vehicle.

The problem could actually be the oil pressure sender that can sometimes fail and cause the oil pressure to read high when actually it's not.

If your oil pressure gets too high then it can blow out oil seals and cause an oil leak so if your oil pressure remains too high I would recommend having a mechanic check the engine out.

You don't want to damage the seals in the engine.
