Yes sometimes an exhaust manifold gasket leaking can cause a lean condition and result in an engine misfire because of the oxygen sensor sensing too much air.

If you do have an exhaust manifold gasket leaking you should get it replaced before it causes other problems besides the misfire.

Another more common thing that could cause an engine misfire is the intake manifold gasket leaking where too much air gets into the engine through the intake manifold gasket leak.

That causes the engine to run too rich.

But usually the engine misfire is either the intake manifold gasket, bad ignition coil, bad spark plug, bad spark plug wires, worn cylinder rings etc.

You can have an auto shop put a tool on it or an auto parts store do a free check engine light test on the vehicle to see why the engine is misfiring.

If the check engine light is not on then you should take the vehicle to a mechanic who can do a diagnostic test on the engines computer to find out what the misfire is being caused by.
