In a nursing home or care home the palliative care in the nursing home is specialized care for people or patients living with a serious illness.

The palliative care is focused on relief from the symptoms and stress of a serious illness and is usually when someone has a serious enough illness to where they cannot be cured from the illness and will likely die as a result of the illness.

End of life care and palliative care will be suggested when a person has a serious enough illness such as a terminal illness where they will die and it cannot be cured.

Basically the palliative care is specialized treatment and care that strives to help match the patients goals, relieve pain, and improve quality of life for people with chronic or life-threatening illnesses.
