Just because you get old it doesn't mean that you will end up in a nursing home as I've known a few people that are 85 to 95 years old who lived at home until they died.
My Grandma lived at home and was in pretty good health until she died at 110 years old so you don't always end up in nursing homes just because you are old.
If you take care of your health, get plenty of exercise, eat right etc then you can live a good healthy life and may not need any nursing care even at home.
But sometimes some people still need nursing home care and may end up in nursing homes after they reach 80 and above.
The odds of ending up in a nursing home are a 50/50 chance and most people will not need nursing home care until after 80.
If I had to have nursing home care myself then I would just end my life because I cannot stand nursing homes and they are no place to live even though you may live and be cared for your life is basically over by then anyway because you can't do anything or really enjoy life.
So my odds of ending up in a nursing home are 0 because I'm not gonna go into a nursing home and will take my own life if it came to that point.
