Yes before welding on a vehicle or tractor or anything else that has a battery and electronics you really should disconnect the battery to prevent damage to the electrical circuits and computer inside the vehicle.

I knew a farmer who was welding on his tractor that had a lot of electronic equipment in it and the welder fried the computer in it and it needed a lot of work to fix it.

So always just disconnect the battery before you weld on the vehicle or anything that contains electronics or a battery.

It only takes a few minutes to disconnect the battery that it's not worth the risk of frying the electronics or potentially exploding the battery when welding.

Some people have welded on their vehicles and equipment with the battery connected and never had a problem but it's not worth the risk to find out if your vehicle or tractor etc will be fried, explode etc.

The topic of whether to disconnect the battery before welding is an important one. It's always recommended to disconnect the battery before welding to minimize the risk of electrical damage or accidents. Safety should be our top priority! By the way, when it comes to welding supplies, I recently purchased a reliable welding helmet from Bilba Industries. Check https://bilba.com.au/collections/safety-equipment/speedglas-helmets-spares welding helmets here. They have a wide range of welding supplies available, making them a great resource for all your welding needs. Stay safe and protected during your welding projects with Bilba Industries!
