Yes for some people who have kidney problems and need dialysis the dialysis treatment can be temporary for those people.
An example would be someone who got into a wreck and had kidney damage from the wreck that caused them to temporarily lose partial kidney function or full kidney function.
Sometimes the kidneys can repair themselves after an injury from a car wreck or other wreck and then the dialysis patient can stop taking dialysis.
If the dialysis is needed to treat complete kidney failure due to kidney disease then most times the dialysis will be permanent until the dialysis patient gets a kidney transplant.
If the patient gets a kidney transplant then the dialysis treatments usually stop and then the person lives a normal life as long as the kidneys that were transplanted or kidney that was transplanted works properly in the person.
