If you're 70 years old and never had life insurance and you have a good savings in the bank or you can prepay your funeral expenses ahead of time and have no other debt then I would not get life insurance at 70 years old and I also say life insurance at 70 years old is a waste of money.

By 70 years old most people have enough savings in the bank and have hardly if any other debt that needs paid off after their death.

If you have any children then they are not responsible for any bills that you may leave behind and companies are insured for those cases anyway.

You can prepay your funeral and pay off any debts you have currently with the monthly cost of the life insurance you'd pay anyway.

You really only need life insurance if you have huge debt or other assets that need paid for upon your death or you have a member of the family depending on you to cover those bills.

Also if you're single and have no one else living with you and you have your funeral arranged and prepaid for then life insurance is not needed.

You can get a burial insurance policy to cover the cost of your burial or funeral but life insurance is not really needed after age 70.

But you can buy life insurance if you want to at 70 and above if you think you need to have it.
