I believe that most people today drive way more than 10,000 miles in a year due to commuting, road trips etc.

Me personally just commuting to work, going grocery shopping, driving around for fun, taking road trips etc I can rack up 15,000 to 25,000 miles per year on my cars odometer sometimes.

Most times it's 15,000 to 18,000 miles per year that I drive if I don't take a long road trip.

So I would say that today the average miles per year that people drive is around 15,000 to 25,000 miles and some people may drive more than 25,000 miles per year if they travel for their job.

But for people commuting back and forth to and from work they usually drive 15,000 to 18,000 miles per year.

That means they would drive 150,000 miles in 10 years or 180,000 miles in 10 years and sometimes as much as 200,000 miles in 10 years.

Usually by 10 years the person trades in their vehicle for another one even though it's still got a lot of miles left on it.
