A few things could cause a washing machine to shake such as too many clothes or too much laundry in the washing machine causing the machine to lose it's balance.

Also the washing machine may not be set up properly to where the leveler legs are not out properly.

You should make sure the washing machine is level and extend the legs on the bottom until the washing machine is level both in the front and back and on the sides.

If the washing machine is not level then it will shake and will shake the house as well.

So if you install a new washing machine make sure to level it out before using it.

If the washing machine is a front load washing machine the shaking of the washing machine could be caused by the shock absorbers in the washing machine becoming weak.

If that happens the washing machine when it shakes will often make a loud banging sound during the spin cycle.

If the washing machine vibrates strongly and moves, this is a sure signal of a malfunction or incorrect installation of the device. Such manifestations should not be ignored. You should do a washing machine repair. At best, this will only lead to unpleasant loud sounds, at worst - the occurrence of more serious problems in the form of breakdowns or disconnection of the drain hose and a flood.
