No child is too old to potty train so no a 3 year old is not too old to potty train.

A 3 year old should at least be in the beginning stages of potty training because 3 years old is getting too old not to be potty trained.

If you plan to send your child to preschool the 3 year old will need to be potty trained or at least partially potty trained before starting preschool.

Some children may not be completely potty trained until near 3 and 1/2 years old but you should begin potty training the child at 3 years old because it can take around 6 months to a year for the child to be fully potty trained.

The 3 year old might still need diapers or pull ups at night while potty training.

Some children can be ready to potty train by age 18 months and will be potty trained by age 2 but some children are not ready until age 3.
