The average life of a car battery or truck battery is between 3 to 5 years.
After 5 years a car battery becomes unreliable and could leave you stranded so as preventative maintenance you should always replace your car or truck battery every 5 years.
Some car and truck batteries may last longer than 5 years but it's not worth risking being stranded so if you have the money replace the car or truck battery every 5 years.
That's what I do is I always replace the battery every 5 years to prevent a breakdown and having to get a jump start.
It's been my experience that after 5 or 6 years on a car or truck battery that I'm gonna be stranded because the vehicle won't start due to a dead battery.
If you can do so put a little money aside in a savings account or in an envelope to pay for a new car battery every 5 years.
It's cheap insurance to replace the battery before it actually dies out and leaves you stranded somewhere.
