Drinking water after tooth extraction is perfectly fine but just avoid drinking any carbonated drinks for 4 days after the tooth extraction.

Avoid any carbonated drinks such as seltzer water, soda, etc until 4 days have passed after you had the tooth extraction.

Water is okay to drink after a tooth extraction and also tea, juice, Gatorade etc are all okay to drink after a tooth extraction.

Also do not smoke use straws, or do any forcible spitting or rinsing for 72 hours after the tooth extraction surgery otherwise it can mess up the healing of the tooth extraction and cause problems and possible bleeding.

I drank water, tea and juices after my tooth extraction and then after 4 days I was able to drink Soda again although I don't drink much soda anyway.
