Hot water that comes out of most bath tubs and sinks in a home is around 140 F when it's not mixed with cold water to cool the hot water down.
If you use the hot water directly without cooling it down with cold water at 140 F then that would cause severe burns to your skin.
If your hot water is set at 140 F it's best to set the thermostat on your water heater to 120 F which is really high enough of a temperature for homes and to avoid being scalded.
I use a thermometer when drawing a bath for myself and did so when I drew a bath for my kids as well to make sure the bath water was not too hot.
I liked to have my bath water at 105 F which was not too hot or too cold and anything hotter than that it would be too hot for baths.
If it was cooler than 105 F then I would shiver in it.
