Yes the English mastiff dog breed is a very loving, loyal and pretty affectionate breed of dog and they are also good around kids and family.

The English Mastiff is also pretty protective against it's family when needed so if someone tries to harm you or a stranger gets near you or comes near your house they will start barking and would likely bite the stranger or someone attacking you.

The English Mastiff is a pretty big dog breed and requires lots of food and lots of room to run around and play and get exercise.

They are not very good apartment dogs though but if you have a house with a good sized backyard then they are good dogs to have.

I've known some English Mastiffs that like to share the bed with the person as well and they are pretty cuddly dogs to sleep with.
