The time it takes for an emergency room visit depends on how severe your injury or illness is when you arrive at the emergency room.
If you go into the emergency room with a severe injury or illness then you'll be seen right away and be taken back to the emergency room.
And if you're not that seriously ill or injured then you may have to wait in the waiting room for 5 to 10 minutes and sometimes as long as 30 minutes to an hour if the hospital is really busy.
Usually though the actual visit to the emergency room takes around 10 to 20 minutes and then if you're admitted they'll take you right away to the room.
Then the hospital stay can be from 2 to 3 days and sometimes for months depending on how severe you are.
