Hawks usually go back to their nests during the winter and stay there in the hawk nest mostly.

But Hawks will leave their nests in the winter to fly around and find food and then return to their nests and use the nest to stay warm during the winter.

I see hawks most active in the spring and summer and less active during the fall and winter but you can sometimes still see hawks out flying during the winter but you'll usually see more hawks during the summer and spring.

At mid latitudes many hawks will stay on their breeding grounds for all or most of the winter but some hawks may leave the breeding territories for a few weeks in the middle of winter and then come back.

Hawks in the southern United States and in Central America are usually non migratory birds.
