State Farm does cover earthquake damage to your home but you must have earthquake insurance added onto your homeowners insurance policy and pay extra per month for the earthquake insurance.

Standard Homeowners insurance through State Farm and most other homeowners insurance companies doesn't pay for damage caused by earthquakes.

So if your area is prone to earthquakes then it would be a good idea to get earthquake insurance added onto your homeowners insurance policy.

Because damage caused by earthquakes will not be covered under your standard homeowners insurance policy.

The homeowners insurance policy without the earthquake insurance will only cover damage due to storms, wind damage and other natural disasters other than floods.

You also must have flood insurance to cover the cost of damage to your home due to flooding.
