A friend of mine drives herself to and from dialysis treatments and she does okay.

But the doctors recommend for at least the first 7 or so treatments to have someone else drive the patient to dialysis because you may feel more tired and weak for at least the first 7 treatments of dialysis.

After that if you feel okay and not very tired or tired at all then you can drive after dialysis and you can drive yourself to and from the dialysis treatment center.

If you have no one else to drive you to and from dialysis or cannot drive then you can speak with the dialysis center who can help you get a ride to and from the dialysis treatment.

The rides will be covered under your health insurance or other medical insurance depending on what medical insurance you have.

The same health insurance that pays for your dialysis should pay for the dialysis rides.
