Medicare only pays for emergency rides to the hospital and does not cover non emergency rides such as the rides to the dialysis treatment.

Some other insurance will pay for the rides to and from the dialysis treatment centers though.

Medicaid though usually covers the cost of the rides to dialysis treatment centers and some other health insurance also covers it.

If you have other health insurance that is covering the cost of your dialysis treatment then that same health insurance will sometimes cover the cost of your rides to and from dialysis.

So when you go to dialysis treatment or your doctor speak with your doctor and let them know you need a ride to the dialysis treatment center and they can help with getting the ride and getting it covered by insurance.

This will save you a lot of money in gasoline costs as well but if you can drive and feel well enough to drive then after the first 7 treatments you can usually drive yourself to and from the dialysis treatment.
