Yes coffee grounds do help to repel slugs.

I believe the reason coffee grounds repel slugs is that the coffee grounds have a smell that the slugs hate because when I used coffee grounds in the soil where slugs were the slugs immediately turned around and then took off away from the coffee grounds.

Coffee grounds do work for getting rid of slugs so it's certainly worth trying.

Epsom Salt and even regular salt helps to repel slugs and when slugs come into contact with regular salt the salt will dry out the insides of their bodies which then leads to killing of the slugs.

Seaweed also helps to get rid of slugs in your yard as well as setting out some traps that you could catch the slugs and release them in some other area.
