John F. Kennedy's brain was never found.

John F. Kennedy's brain went missing from the National Archives in 1966 during an inventory transfer after John F. Kennedy's autopsy, and the official whereabouts of his brain still remain completely unknown.

Following the November 23rd, 1963 assassination, president John F. Kennedy's brain was removed and then placed in a stainless steel container and was initially kept at the Secrete Service office before it was then moved to the National Archives.

And by the year 1966, during a transfer of the assassination materials, officials had discovered that the container that held the brain of John F. Kennedy was gone.

And then a 1978 investigation by the House of Select Committee on Assassinations had formally confirmed that John F. Kennedy's brain was missing.

Historians and researchers, like James Swanson in his book End of Days, suggests that former Attorney General, Robert F. Kennedy might have taken and ultimately destroyed or hid John F. Kennedy's brain to prevent it from being publicly displayed or exploited as a morbid artifact or a souvenir.

And some theorists also claim that the brain of John F. Kennedy was intentionally stolen to hide evidence that may contradict the official finding that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone from behind.

Although, no official evidence supports this.

John F. Kennedy's autopsy was also botched which lead to the following blunders:

Lack of Training: The lead Navy doctors, James Humes and J. Thornton Boswell, were hospital pathologists.

They were not certified forensic pathologists.

They had never performed a forensic autopsy on a gunshot victim.

Missing the Throat Wound: Doctors in Dallas performed a tracheostomy to try and save JFK.

This medical procedure cut right through a bullet hole in his neck.

The autopsy doctors completely missed this hole during the exam.

They did not realize a bullet had exited or entered his throat until calling Dallas the next day.

Burning the Autopsy Notes: Dr. Humes burned his original autopsy notes and a draft report in his home fireplace.

He claimed they were stained with the President's blood.

He did not want them to become morbid souvenirs.

However, destroying original medical records sparked immediate cover-up suspicions.

Unprofessional Protocol: The pathologists failed to shave the hair around the head wounds.

Shaving is a standard forensic practice used to clearly see the shape of gunshot entry and exit points.

They also did not probe the neck wound to trace the path of the bullet.

Military Interference: The autopsy room was crowded with high-ranking military officers.

Witnesses later reported that these officials pressured the doctors.

They urged them to hurry and controlled what the doctors could examine.

The Brain Weight Error: The official report listed JFK's brain weight at 1,500 grams.

This is actually heavier than the average human brain.

Experts argue this is impossible.

Photos and medical data showed that nearly a third of his brain tissue was missing from the gunshot. This led to theories that a different brain was examined.

Because of these blunders, the entry and exit points of the bullets were poorly documented.

This messy evidence made it difficult for the Warren Commission to clearly prove its "Single-Bullet Theory" to the public.

Later medical panels verified that Kennedy was shot from behind.

Even so, the bungled autopsy permanently damaged public trust.
