All types of homeowners insurance is tax deductible on your income tax returns.

However it can vary as to whether you qualify to write the insurance off on your  taxes as a deduction.

To be 100 percent sure you would need to speak with the insurance company and your tax preparer to find out if your earthquake insurance or other insurance qualifies as a tax deduction on your specific income taxes.

However most people do qualify to write off the earthquake insurance and other insurance premiums as a tax deduction.

I had earthquake insurance when I lived in Florida and I was able to write off the earthquake insurance on my income taxes which was a great thing as it saved me some money on my income taxes.

I also had to have earthquake insurance for the mortgage company to hold the mortgage to the home which I now sold to someone else.
