A lot of doctors do mention that poop does count as wet diapers for some newborns.

However really in my opinion poop diapers would just mean that the baby is pooping normally and if the baby has at least 6 wet diapers per day.

Most newborn babies wet their first diaper within 12 to 24 hours after being born.

You should then expect at least 8 to 10 wet diapers per day for a newborn and as they get older the baby may only have between 5 to 6 wet diapers per day and maybe 1 poop diaper per day.

However it's normal if the baby doesn't poop everyday but they should be peeing everyday at least or they could be dehydrated.
