The Gel that is used in disposable diapers to absorb urine is called SAP or "Super Absorbent Polymer" The SAP or the Gel in disposable diapers is not toxic to babies or children.

So if the baby or child gets the gel on their skin from a burst disposable diaper then there's nothing to worry about and all you need to do is wipe the gel off your child's skin and give them a bath and it will clean right up.

The gel in diapers is also considered to be non toxic if it's ingested however if the baby or child has eaten a lot of the gel from the diapers you should take them to urgent care or the emergency room just to be safe because the gel could swell up in their stomach and cause issues.

But it's not deadly to eat the non toxic gel in the disposable diapers but I would not recommend it and if your baby has torn their diaper open you need to change them into a new one immediately and try to keep something over the diaper to prevent the child from reaching the diapers.

You should also place the other new diapers away from the child so they can't get into them and tear them open and try to eat them.

My nephew would try to tear into his diaper and eat the gel beads and the doctor said it was not harmful or deadly as long as he didn't eat too much of it.
