The baby when in the womb needs the amniotic fluid to survive and without the amniotic fluid the baby cannot survive or has a very low chance of survival without the amniotic fluid.

The amniotic fluid protects the babies lungs, and the baby itself to make sure the baby stays healthy when in the womb.

If the amniotic fluid is not there because the water breaks too soon and the baby is not ready to be born or fully developed then the baby will likely not survive.

If the baby does survive after the amniotic fluid is lost too soon then it would be a miracle as some babies have survived without the amniotic fluid but it's rare.
