How does human hearing work?

Human hearing works by the sound waves that travel through the air, which enter the ear and then hit the eardrum.

Once the soundwaves that travel through the air, enter the ear and hit the eardrum, the eardrum vibrates and moves 3 tiny bones which send fluid waves into the cochlea.

Then tiny hair cells inside catch these waves and turn them into electrical signals.

And then nerves carry these electrical signals to your brain, which then figures out the sound and allows you to ear these sounds.

For the outer ear, the pinna, is the outside part of the human ear that catches the soundwaves.

And the ear canal, is where waves travel down which is the narrow tube that allows the sound waves to travel into the ear.

For the middle ear, the eardrum is a thin skin that shakes when sound hits it.

And the 3 small bones, which can be described as the hammer, anvil, and stirrup pass the shaking along and also make it stronger.

And for the inner ear, the cochlea, which is snail shell shaped is filled with liquid.

Then shaking liquid moves microscopic hairs that create electrical pulses.

And finally for the brain, the auditory nerve sends the electrical signal messages from your ear to your brain.

The brain then reads these signals as music, talking, or noise.

Also, although our ears allow us to hear, we actually hear with our brains and our ears are basically the receivers of the sounds we hear.
