Oil changes should be done every 3,000 to 6,000 miles to keep the engine running properly and to keep the engine lubricated properly.

When the engine oil gets too dirty and contaminated then the bearings in the engine will eventually wear out and then you'll have a seized engine.

So change the engine oil every 3,000 to 6,000 miles and never go longer than 6,000 miles without changing the oil unless you want to change your engine.

The oil is cheap compared to having to change the engine out due to engine bearing failure or engine oil pump failure.

I never let my vehicles go past 6,000 miles on the oil changes or oil filter changes and when my oil gets changed the oil filter also gets changed out.

I've been changing the engine oil and oil filter in my engine every 3,000 miles usually but never longer than 6,000 miles and the engine has 500,000 miles on it now without a problem.

Take care of your engine and it will last a long time.
