Yes bad spark plugs that are worn down or are fouled can cause an engine to stall.
The engine needs the proper amount of spark at the correct time to ignite the fuel in the cylinder through the use of the spark plug along with ignition coil and the distributor if your vehicle has a distributor.
If the engine doesn't get the proper spark then it may sputter, be hard to start and even yes stall the engine out.
If you haven't changed your engines spark plugs in around 100,000 miles then it's time to change the spark plugs out because they are likely bad or are going bad.
You should also check your ignition module, ignition coils, and other ignition components to be sure the engine is getting enough spark.
Also make sure the vehicles engine is in time properly or it will run rough and stall out.
Other things that can cause an engine to stall is low fuel pressure, clogged or dirty fuel injectors or even a bad fuel pump or clogged fuel filter.
