Once you have the vehicle inspected for a salvage title it takes about 2 weeks to get the salvage title from the DMV.
After you rebuild the vehicle to a road worthy condition then you'll take the vehicle in for inspection and they'll look the vehicle over to see if it's actually road worthy.
If the vehicle passes inspection they'll send off for the salvage title and then you'll get the salvage title back in about 2 weeks although sometimes it may take as long as 3 weeks.
Make sure the vehicle is in good condition so that it will pass the inspection when you do take the vehicle in for a salvage title inspection.
I've taken a vehicle in for a salvage title inspection and it was pretty easy for it to pass.
