Unpaid medical bills stay on your credit report for around 7 years and 180 days from the time the medical bills were sent to collections.

So if you have unpaid medical bills and cannot pay the unpaid medical bills the medical bills would be sent to collections after around a year or two of not paying the unpaid medical bills.

Then once that happens collection agencies will usually try and contact you to try and get you to pay the debt back and if you cannot pay the debt it's best to not even talk to the debt collector.

After 7 years have passed then the unpaid medical bills will be removed from your credit report and then it will no longer affect your credit report or credit score.

That is as long as you do not restart the debt by responding to the debt collector then the time starts again.
