To keep your credit card information from being stolen you should avoid giving out your credit card information over the phone to unknown people.

Never share your PIN number to anyone, keep your credit card with you at all times, review your credit card statements and if you have your credit card stolen or you lost your credit card you should immediately report the lost or stolen credit card to the credit card company.

That is even if you think you just lost the credit card in your house and are sure to find it it's best to go ahead and report it lost to prevent someone from using it in the event it's actually lost somewhere else.

When using an ATM machine look for any signs of tampering and if you notice signs of tampering with the ATM machine do not use the ATM machine and alert someone about the possible tampering of the ATM machine.

Also do not sign any blank credit card receipts and shred anything that has your credit card number or information on it to prevent it from being stolen.

Be very cautious who calls you and if you suspect it's someone acting as a credit card company then hang up and call back your credit card company directly.

A real credit card company rep should not ask for your full credit card number and only the last digits.

If someone calls you claiming to be your credit card company and asks for your full credit card number and PIN number then it's a red flag that they are likely a fraud and should be reported.
