Yes wood smoke does contain and produce carbon monoxide just like fireplaces and wood burning stoves.
If you get smoke coming into your house through your fireplace or your wood stove then you could have carbon monoxide buildup in your home which can be deadly.
If you do get wood smoke into your house you should open doors and windows and get the smoke out of the house to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning.
Being around wood smoke outside can also be harmful if inhaled too much so avoid breathing in too much of the wood smoke from an outdoor wood fire.
Being outside though does keep the carbon monoxide from building up around you but it's still not healthy for your lungs to breathe in wood smoke or any other smoke.
Any fire that uses any type of fuel that is actually burning produces carbon monoxide and even gasoline engines produce carbon monoxide which is deadly.
