A good household product that naturally dissolves rust is some white vinegar or white vinegar with some baking soda.

The white vinegar and baking soda will react and start dissolving the rust and then the rust should brush or clean right off.

Then apply some WD 40 or other rust proof spray to the metal that the rust is getting on.

You can also put some baking soda onto the rust and then use a toothbrush with some vinegar or water to scrub the rust away.

If you have something small that needs rust removed you can soak the item in some undiluted vinegar and even add some baking soda to it as well to help it work better.

Then just scrub the rust away.

PB Blaster spray is also a good product to remove rust and get things unstuck although it's a commercially made product and is a bit expensive but it's well worth the cost to get stubborn rust off and get stuff unstuck.
