You can take a cordless drill and drill bits as well as an electric saw or saw blades onto an airplane but you cannot bring the cordless drill or the power tools or blades or drill bits onto the plane in your carry on luggage.
The only way you can bring your cordless drill or other power tools onto the airplane is in your checked luggage that goes under the airplane where it's not accessible to you or the passengers while the airplane is in flight.
I have brought a cordless drill and even a circular saw and saw blades as well as drill bits on an airplane in my checked luggage after I went on a trip to see family for Christmas.
One of my family members got me a cordless drill, drill bits and a circular saw as well as a few saw blades for the saw.
I asked the airline if I could bring those things in my checked luggage and they said I could because I thought I would have to ship them back home.
But most airlines will allow you to bring power tools on the plane as long as it's in your checked luggage and not in your carry on luggage.
