Most wind turbines can survive and withstand hurricanes without a problem but sometimes a hurricane gets strong enough that the hurricane rips off the wind turbine blades or blade and then damages the wind turbine.
However during high winds and hurricanes most wind turbines are turned off and stopped before the wind gets too bad or a hurricane starts occurring to avoid damage.
The wind turbines are insured though to pay for any possible damage but most wind turbine generator owners will have the wind turbines shut down to prevent any damage.
I have seen a hurricane damage a wind turbine before but then it left the other wind turbines alone so it's rare that a hurricane damages a wind turbine but it certainly can if the hurricane gets too much wind blowing on the wind turbine.
Then the wind turbine blades which are massive and longer than peoples houses can fly off and possibly kill or injure someone.
