Why do people have children when they clearly cannot afford them?

Why do people have children when they clearly can't afford them?
Why do people have children when they clearly can't and know they can't afford to have them?

I'm especially talking about the ones in third world countries where they have to live in shacks and search for food and go hungry?

If they can't hardly feed themselves then why do they have children and make them suffer too?

They have kids because they feel they need them to take care of them in their old age. But some of the kids may not live past childhood if they are starved to death or don't have access to enough clean water.

I think it's cruel too to have kids when you know they will suffer.
