Can Auto Insurance companies cancel your auto insurance policy at anytime without notice first?

I just got my insurance policy dropped and I never got notified that my insurance would be cancelled beforehand.

I thought Auto insurance companies were supposed to notify the person they were cancelling their auto insurance first?

Yes insurance companies can cancel your policy at anytime they want to and for whatever they want too.

But they should have notified you before cancelling.
