The drive up Pikes Peak is 19 miles each way and if you drive straight through Pikes Peak without stopping for breaks and exploring the drive straight through Pikes Peak takes around 20 to 30 minutes.
But if you account for rest breaks and exploring which you really should it can take you around 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes to get to the top of Pikes Peak.
I took breaks along the way and explored for awhile before continuing onto the top of Pikes Peak and it took me 1 hour and 30 minutes.
When driving through pikes peak you should get out for awhile, explore and takes some pictures for lasting memories especially if you have kids.
The extra time it takes to take breaks is well worth it and you'll have much more fun doing so.
