When your car is making a whistling noise when you accelerate the vehicle the cause of the whistling noise upon accelerating is most commonly caused by vacuum leaks on the engine through a bad or cracked vacuum hose.

Another cause of a whistling noise when accelerating is a bad serpentine belt pulley or pulleys or a bad serpentine belt itself.

Check your serpentine belt and serpentine belt pulleys to be sure they're good and make sure the belt has the proper tension and is tight and not loose.

If the belt is good and tight and the pulleys are okay then the cause of the whistling sound would likely be a vacuum leak.

The vacuum leak could be from the hoses or from the intake manifold or intake manifold gasket too.

Or another cause of whistling noise when accelerating could be the breather tube from the air filter box to the intake could have a leak in it as well.
