Mice do hate the smell of dryer sheets and the dryer sheets will repel and keep the mice away for at least a few days until the dryer sheets scents starts to fade.
Then the mouse will just come back and chew the dryer sheets up so you'd have to constantly replace the dryer sheets with new ones every 2 or 3 days.
You can use dryer sheets for a few days to repel mice but after a few days the dryer sheets will lose their scent and then the mice will just come to the area and chew the dryer sheets up.
The best way to get rid of mice is to really just set out some mouse traps and bait the mouse traps and kill the mice to keep them from coming back.
If you just repel the mice they will just come back to your house and get into things so it's best to kill those mice and get rid of them once and for all.
I buy and use those plastic mouse traps which work better than the wooden mouse traps as the plastic mouse traps have a set of teeth that really clamp down on the mouse when it gets into the mousetrap.
